12 points and a ban
hi all
i was wondering if what happens if you get 12 points and say you get banned for 6 months(as happened to a friend). do your points come off after 6 months and you got a clean license or do you still have 12 points after the ban.
also do u have to take you driving test again??
the points were all sp30. which built up over the last 2 years. And replies woul be greatly appreciated.
Thanks and merry xmas everyone

From what I understand a disqualification under the totting up procedure effectively removes all penalty points at the date of disqualification, so your friend should be ok and should not need a retest.
A disqualification for any other reason does not remove existing penalty points.Z

Points stay on your licence for 4 years, but are only counted for 3 years for totting up purposes.Don`t steal - the Government doesn`t like the competition0
