Re: toothpaste, it must be about a week or two ago someone I know bought one tube and with their regular shopping and when they got home noticed it wasn't on the receipt but presumed that the cashier hadn't hit the barcode in the right place.
  • Poundland reduced a few Halloween items today but really didn't nned to reduce much 'cos people were needing no encouragement to buy!! We had virtually nothing left by closing time!! We start merchandising the Halloween stock at the beginning of September so find it astonishing how many people leave it to the last minute then react in a sulky fashion when we say we've sold out!!

I went to Morrisons at 4.30 and couldnt get into the carpark--it was heaving. Eventually got parked and there was no baskets and the queues were up the aisles--i've never seen anything like it!!

I went to Asda this morning for a pumpkin but they had sold out at 9 apparantly - adults grabbing plastic pumpkins for £8  was a bit sad. I have just put a candle in the window instead so very MSE:D

Dont understand why people need to spend loads on what is in effect a couple of hours of halloween but maybe lots of people were having parties:confused:

I know this happens at christmas which I understand perfectly, also easter and before the other bank holidays which I understand

but why do people panic buy at these times anyway, they go frantic on christmas eve
  • We're having Halloween tomorrow, as I was working this evening & other 'arf was ill. I only have little ones and they only go next door to trick or treat at their Nanas, but I am hoping I might find some reduced stuff in Tesco 1st thing tomorrow to make it fun for them.

Hopefully they'll reduce the pumpkins soon, so I can do a large batch of soup, as I do every year.

It's half term in lots of places. Maybe loads of parents had put off going shopping all week and had run out of food.

I went to Tesco this afternoon and it was 'christmas busy' - no parking, 4 trolly loads of people per till and complete madness at the halloween section! but the stuff was reduced, I spent a pound and got spiders, skeltons etc.

we decorated the window outside our house and have had about 10 lots of trick or treaters.. nothing treaty left for me though
  • poundland was wiped out today
feb wins, head badminton kit, 250g sea salt scrub
    prizes £32.99 :j
  • It's pay day for alot of people... kids have been off all week - no food left & halloween parties to go to. I'm an old misery guts when it comes to halloween - it really is an american thing! But the stores love it - I wonder why!!
What goes around comes around !! Simple but very true :rotfl:
