Alvor,Lagos or inland in the Monchique mountains,all about an hours drive from the airport.0

Turn right rather than left and head towards Spain, which is about an hour away. Lots of options along this part of the Algarve which is largely forgotten about Tavira is one place worth investigating. Villa Real is the last town before Spain and is pleasant enough.0
