I've just been reading Martin's articles on spending abroad sorry to be dense but what does load mean? I understand the rest of the table just not that bit. Again I apologise for being dense but my concentration and understanding of things isn't very good
.
Thank you for helping me.

When you're abroad and pay by credit card, almost all credit card companies (except Nationwide- as far as I know) usually add around between 2- 2.75% (loading) on the equivalent £, on top of the amount your have paid for.Regards

"Load" can also apply to the act of placing a credit card into a positive balance before any purchases are made, or by making larger payments to the account than are actually due. You may spend a positive balance just like a negative one and should enjoy the same consumer protection when doing so. The Egg Money credit card, because it actually pays an 'in-credit' rate of interest [and most don't] will actually be perfectly OK if loaded. Other card issuers aren't so happy with positive balances but are unlikely to worry where the customer simply overpays by a few pounds......under construction.... COVID is a [discontinued] scam0
