im using just one central heating radiater in my bathroom and a gas fire in one room..is this cost efective? or is it best to put all radiators in the house on.. my house is an old one, which is only part double glased..my daughter is wanting radiator on in her bedroom as it is soooo cold with no double glasing in. im worried about the cost. any advise is appreciated..

I suspect a radiator and gas fire will cost about the same as three or four radiators but there are so many variables, it's hard to say. Why don't you try the central heating for an evening and check the meter for gas used and then do the same for your fire and radiator tomorrow evening? For a more accurate calculation, you'd need to do this several times and average it.
Meanwhile, heavy curtains in daughter's room? Other people use bubble wrap on the window and reckon it really helps. We have an old house (with CH on!) but still use electric blankets in the winter.0 -
It depends on the efficiency of your your CH boiler and your type of gas fire.
Nobody can give you an answer.
As said above try to measure both ways, but try to keep the conditions as close as possible.
I suspect there won't be a huge difference.0
