how to check router settings

Can someone remind me how to get into my settings for our router(speedtouch 500/700 series), I set it up a couple of years ago and can't remember? I want to check if the encryption is correct as we have downloaded twice as much as normal this month.
thanks

Your looking for wireless settings and security, should have WPA selected or WEP if it's an older router.

If you can't see it go into Control Panel and Network (depending on your operating system) then select show available wireless networks, this will show yours and any neighbours and will tell you if they are secured or not.

Went into control panel > network (xp pro.) and there was internet gateway, and lan or high speed internet, but I couldn't see an option to show available wireless connections.
The computer I use is wired to router, should I be checking the other one that is wireless?
