Renting. Went to see 2 houses today. Both disgustingly filthy. Are they all?

  • I assumed everyone (LL's) would clean to attract new business.

Unfortunately not! I'ts strange that some LLs will waste their time and fuel attending viewings for a dirty/tatty property losing valuable income, when they could spend a week or so,(like you've done) bringing their property up to a reasonable standard. They're either stupid or lazy.

This is the reason why we have always rented new builds, despite loving period properties. It's the British love of carpeting bathrooms that I just can't get my head around, it's nice to walk on a floor that you know someone hasn't peed on.

Actually I found quite a few new builds have carpets in them. The reason is that it's cheaper to use the same flooring all over the property. (I've even found houses/flats with carpet in the kitchen  )

And the reason some people have carpeted bathroom is that they have no shower and a cold house.

Personally carpet in bathrooms or separate toilets is not to my taste.
    I'm not cynical I'm realistic :p
