Day trip parking in London
Options
hi
Can anyone give us any advice. We are going to London tomorrow (from Kettering, Northants). We had planned on going on the train but quoted £103 for 2 adults and 2 children! Needless to say have thought again and now plan to drive down and park somewhere nearby and tube in. Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions of the best places to park safely and conveniently?
Thank you in advance

You can do the train for £58.60 if have family railcard, if not railcard would cost an extra £24 at the station valid for 1 year, so can use it on future trips.
Can't help with parking, used to live south of the river, it is still relatively easy to park around Shortlands (Zones 1 -4 travelcard) and Bromley South Station (Zones 1 - 6 travelcard) (Mays Hill Road, being a free favourite). But seems mad to go all the way around M25 just for free parking.
Perhaps someone else can suggest somewhere North London way. Another alternative is Rickmansworth (From memory - roads around Meadow Way are free), but need an extended out of zones travelcard on Metropolitan Line.0 -

I was going to suggest that, Stanmore is very easy to get too and park for £3 a day, easy journey by tube into London, hopefully you can save a bit if you have an Oyster card, or apply for one for next time.0
