I live in birmingham well in the outskirts, and to be honest i wouldnt want to live in the middle of a big city, likewise i wouldnt wanna live in the middle of London.
I seen a report last week on that inside out and someone had bought one of these flats and had managed to get someone in there to rent his, but he was still paying 200 pound a month on top for the mortgage.
I think a lot were bought by rich people who like a night up town and then a chill at a nice little pad, which if i had the money i would like to do myself.
But people who bought these for buy to let have made a very big mistake, its not really on the best side of town and i bet the parking is a nightmare.

I fit all these criteria but pay my own rent- Thanks dude; I know what I'm going to do tomorrow before slacking off and getting stoned in casual dress.0 -
BTLet new-build flat owners should have GREEDY MUG stamped on their foreheads in very big letters.0

England is the only place I know where almost every person can instantly identify which class they feel they are a part of.
You've got a bit to learn about Oz. The Aussies will immediately size you up and try to figure out where to pigeon-hole you. You'll get used to the term 'Bogan' too - that's Aussie for 'Chav'. Lots of big Bogan areas (cheap housing, blokes wearing stubbie shorts and flannel shirts and driving beat up Bogan cars - Falcon, Commodore etc).0 -

That would be great if it was a condition of being made bankrupt. Tattooed across the forehead..
Reminds me of a great episode of the Twilight Zone.

Yes - I have flown several times on a single-engined plane....much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -

It's the same old story: wherever did they think they'd find enough people that could afford these rents?
You could pay a lot less within 3 miles, here is a studio for £210 a month:

If you wanted to pay £495 a month within 3 miles, you could get a 3 bed, 2 reception, garden and parking house:

NTSB figures state the massive majority of plane crashes are from single engined planes.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. The one where you showed us Dithering Dad is a complete liar. I have no particular class identification....much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -
Which class you put yourself in isn't a defining part of the vision you have of yourself nor of the way others view you in most countries. In England it is. Maybe India too although I can't say as I've never been.

True, and one of the reasons I left UK in the early 90's. I'm public school/ oxbridge, and it is annoying to be stereo-typed once you open your mouth. I had an interview (for an engineering job) where they stated that public school boys were too posh to be engineers.0
