new car stereo query
I have a nissan micra and it has a factory fitted stereo. I dont have a problem with it, I only listen to the radio really and the odd CD, however, I really want to be able to control the volume etc on the steering wheel,, are there any ways I can do this? Do I need to fit a new stereo for this, do they come with steering wheel controls? will it affect my insurance?

You want to control the new stereo with steering wheel controls? You need to get a good quality stereo that can accept remote input. Then I believe you need an adapter for the car and one for the stereo or something. That should let you use existing controls. Fancy stuff like displays on dash probably won't work though.0

i think they want to control the original stereo from the steering wheel.
call a nissan dealer with your cars details and ask if this can be done. if its an old micra then i doubt it can be done with the original stereo, and if you need to buy the part from a dealer you would probably be cheaper getting an aftermarket stereo with steering column controls supplied....work permit granted!0
