I have a cordless phone downstairs which doesn't ring and I cannot phone from, it's not the phone because I bought a new one thinking it was my other one that was broken, obviously it wasn't. The phone upstairs is working well. I have the internet so it's not the line. Can you help?
Thank you in advance

have you got broadband filters on? is it plugged into the master socket direct, or via an extension
The filters are on and the line is plugged in properly, as I said I have the Internet working fine and the upstairs phone is working fine, it's just that the phone doesn't work downstairs0 -
Swap the phones around if the downstairs one still doesn't work, but the upstairs one does (i.e. you've then checked both 'phones work) t's likely you've got a dodgy ADSL filter downstairs.
Buy quality ones from ADSL Nation, a million times better than the freebie rubbish from ISPs.0 -
I tried the phone upstairs and yes it works up there, so it must be the filter, thank you.0
