car windshield claim

Please could someone advice about how could i make a claim as my(Honda civic) windshield has got a big crack. i don't know how it had happened.

I have got a comprehensive cover with direct line. please could someone advice about how to make a claim and what should i say to them.

I'm preusming you have windscreen cover (95% COmprehensive policies do). In which case check your documents some request you use a specific provider, but you won't usually deal directly with the Insurance company. You'll go to RAC Autowindscreens (or equivalent), they will ask to see you policy certificate, they will then take down the details and charge you the Windscreen excess, the balance will be billed directly to Direct Line.

Direct Line use Autoglass. From my policy booklet the phone number is 0800 328 7423. Just go direct to Autoglass and they take care of it all for you.

Please ignore me if you already know this but you will also need to declare a windscreen claim when getting quotes at renewal time. Some co's take them into account, some don't but its best to declare it anyway.
