I'm wondering if i could take the chill off in one room with this? would it be cheaper than putting the GSH on?
I'm thinking 10mins or so with this instead of having 4 radiators on. As i can't turn those ones off when i put the GSH on.
Thanks

At 400w or 800w, it may well be cheaper to run than gas central heating (is that what you mean by GSH?) but they're not going to generate much heat. I'd stick with gas CH.0

No!
For the same amount of heat it will cost about 3 times as much as gas CH.
These heaters are not designed to heat rooms but direct 'instant' heat toward one person; rather like a torch beam directs light.
They are useful for someone sitting at, say, a bench in an unheated garage.
If you can't turn off a radiator, it is faulty.0 -
Should have said, yes, will probably be cheaper to run (for 10 mins or so mentioned by OP) but to get the heat equal to radiators, it will as cardew says cost much more.0

As 10 minutes instant heat to warm you up - they are great.
However, as it says in the description, it is designed to warm the person not the ambient temperature.
What this means is that when you turn it off, then you go cold again as the ambient/room temperature is still cold and these things go off like a light so no residual heat is given out, unlike a radiator which will stay warm for a while even when it is switched off."Now to trolling as a concept. ....
