Bumping Threads

It just means if you see an offer has been duplicated pm the bg with the links to the old thread and the new thread that needs merging rather than finding the old thread and writing bump on it. This was causing the front page to be full with bumped threads. It meant that the board was hard to navigate to find new freebie offers.
More can be read in the guide to the freebies thread, see the link in my signature:D.
Hope this clears it up a bit.0 -

No Martin and his team fully understand about the search not working. And its not about users posting duplicates. We're all human after all.
It's the comments that are posted after a duplicate thread is posted that can be nasty.
All that Andrea meant was if you see a duplicate post pm a bg, rather than finding the old thread and writing bump on it.:hello:0 -

Ahhh! I see! LOL! Had wondered if I had missed something somewhere- so we are talking a sort of passive agressive nasiness!! How British!! (And so as to not appear nasty, I am indeed a Brit through and through,-though hopefully not appearing as a nasty one!! Have never done that sort of bumping before!)
Thanks for the explaination lorweld! now clear!0 -
I think that if people are going to write something constructive or useful then it should be allowed but if they just write 'bump' or something similar then it shouldn't be allowed.2008 Wins: The Shapes - Get Your Learn On (CD), Free transport to and from a Christmas Party2009 Wins: Years Supply of Orbit Complete (144 packets), £50 of Odeon vouchers

I have bumped a few threads but thought I was helping the board guides, obviously now I know this is not the case, but I don't see how it was nasty??
What gets me is there are certain old regulars who blatantly do not use the search function as almost all their posts are duplicates and I am sure I am not the only one to spot this (and I have checked search almost all duplicates come up) why does no-one address this?? perhaps then people may not feel the need to bump??
Although I certainly won't anymore thanks for bringing it to my attention!:)0 -

How does the OP feel about me bumping the thread? It must be an ambiguous feeling - someone bringing the topic to a wider audience by doing exactly what he/she was asked not to do?0 -

if you read above, you will see that the search function does not always work!! please make sure you read the thread properly as you are doing just what you are annoyed at others for not doing: reading and looking first!0 -
