Dynamic Currency Conversion in Dublin

in Credit cards
I have just been caught out by DCC in Dublin by 2 retailers, The hotel rectified the problem by cancelling the transaction then processing it again in local currency. I specifically asked the other retailer for the credit card to be billed in local currency but they refused, I had no cash. The transaction was only 45 euro however that is not the point. I intend to do a chargeback with Nationwide for the whole amount, not just the 3% that I am out of pocket, The retailer will then have the option to resubmit the charge for the correct amount otherwise they will get nothing. This can not be tolerated. Has anyone else had any success with a chargeback from a DCC scam.
