Help choosing backpack

Hi,
I am going traveling in SE Asia in a month, and am looking to buy a backpack for the trip. I'll be away for 6 months.
I have quite a lot of problems with my back due to a curved spine, so want to make sure the bag is properly designed. Ideally I'd be able to get a good deal, but supporting my back is more important to me.
I also quite like the idea of getting one with a detachable rucksack...
Does anyone have any recommendations on good backpacks - and places to get them?!
Thanks

Give that design appears to be the most important factor I would find a good camping/hiking shop in your area and visit them. Normally in these places I find the staff helpful and knowledgeable. If you find something, you can then either buy it there or have a look on the net for a cheaper supplier.IT Consultant in the utilities industry specialising in the retail electricity market.
