As you have an arrangement in place then you continue paying until you are discharged. Then it is written off. Let your OR know about it.BSCno.87The only stupid question is an unasked oneLoving life as a Kernow Hippy0

Hi
I had all my outstanding tax included in my BR. The only things you can't include are Council tax arrears and student loans. I owed about 2k to the Inland Revenue and it was just included in my list of creditors.
Good luck.

Well done lxpeanut.
Its a weird feeling for me sitting here tonight. Went to Tesco's with my husband this afternoon (paid with cash) felt I had a big sign round my neck saying I am going to be bankrupt. I was looking at people thinking have you been terrified for years because of debt or have you been the sensible or lucky ones that would probably judge me if they knew. I am not a bad person just made mistakes. All I can do is take this experience to warn others and most importantly guide my teenagers and make them understand the importance of saving and never borrowing.
Going to watch emmerdale and switch off for 30 mins.0 -
Hey never in debt, just like to say - who is anyone to judge you? You got into debt, and have taken a big step that took a lot of courage to stop the claw that it's having on your life. I have been in debt all my adult life, I had no real money skills taught to me early in life, and have always borrowed ahead of myself. For the past 10 years (I'm 27 now) debt has been a 'normal' part of my life. Fearing what letter will be next, worrying when people phone for me. My credit is ruined so the possiblity of getting a mortgage etc never existed... was always out of the question. My first debt was from a bank that talked me into doubling my loan amount I originally requested on the phone (I was very young 18 at the time and thought I was going into business..) well needless to say I didn't and it just went downhill from there. Don't feel that you are to blame, of course you are partly we all are that are in debt, but media/and the actual companies that offer the credit in the first place are partly to blame also. It's so basic but if one of them had said to me - you do realise if you can't pay this back it will likey ruin your credit for the next 20 years of your life, and you will never be able to own your own home... I wouldn't have taken the debt in the first place, or at least the first debt that started this all off.
Don't feel bad or guilty or w/e other feelings your thinking for making a great desicison and trying to take your life back, feel pitty for the people out there that are still walking around not knowing how to take control of it ! (me, until about 1 day ago when I found this site!).
You have nothing to be ashamed about, you didn't know then what you know now, and I'm sure you wouldn't have taken the credit out if you did, you just made the descision you thought was right at the time.
Good for you teaching your children too, I wished someon had taught me about money when I was a teenager.whinge intr.v. whinged, whing·ing, whing·es Chiefly British To complain or protest, especially in an annoying or persistent manner.0 -
