Hi peeps,
First post on this site after being addicted on it for the last six months!
I'm looking to apply for a new credit card, but dunno whether to apply for the Cashback card or the Nectar card.
I like the Nectar points and I can pay my credit card off in full. I can't calculate whether it's more benificial to apply for the Cashback or the Nectar card.
Thanks!

I personally prefer the cashback as opposed to points. I think the Amex Nectar card points works out at around 0.5% (cashback).
Have a look at the Egg Money card which gives 1% cashback on all purchases.Regards

It really depends on where you shop and how you intend to spend any Nectar points.
The worse case at non-Nectar stores would be earning 1 point per pound. At Nectar stores you earn 2 points per pound (on top of the 2 points per pound for using the Nectar loyalty card).
Nectar points are then worth 0.5p in Sainsburys, Argos, Debenhams, etc. but can be worth 1p in some other stores.
So you can view the equivalent cashback as between 0.5% and 2%. You need to compare that with the other cashback cards.0 -
2 points per pound in addition to using the loyalty card :-) I've applied for my Nectar CC through Martins special link, however no sign of it yet - hope it arrives before the end of the year so I can qualify for the bonus 6000 Nectar points.
I currently use my debit card for my shops in Sainsburys which gives me nothing back. I should use my Nationwide cashback CC, but then thats only something like 0.25% cashback, so getting the Nectar CC and using it will be well worth it to me.0 -
