Browsing problems since recent Vista update

Hi,

First of all apologies if this has been covered before - I've done a serach but not found the answer.

A few days ago I installed updates to Vista - I don't know exactly what the updates were - I was just prompted upon shutting down to 'click here to shutdown and install updates'.

Since then I've noticed that my interent browsing has been affected. Previously if I clicked on a link in an email a new browser would come up in a new window and now it's a tab. I'm not too keen on tabs to be honest but my main problem is that the links take a lot longer to come up.

A site which I use a lot is newsnow.co.uk and although the links on there still come up in a new window I've noticed that there is a very, very noticeable time gap before links open and it's driving me mad!

I'd be really grateful if anyone knows why this is happening. As mentioned, I prefer new windows to tabs but I've been told to 'get with it' and get used to the tabs - it's just this delay with links that's got me ripping my hair out!

Thanks in advance and hope the above makes sense!

Squee.

Cheers Sunshine - just done that now - wasn't too painful!

Any ideas why I'm encountering noticeable delays with the opening of links?

    Many thanks once again,
  • no, but im glad you mentioned it. i noticed it was slower too. vista seems to open a new tab much quicker than a new window. hopefully the next update will rectify
