advice needed urgently

I don't know where to post this but I need help urgently.

We are having a conservatorty built and the plans quite clearly state a slab outside it (step) Main contractor agreed to do everything in plans but has not done this. He also has not paid subcontractor who said to husband yesterday that he could "sell on the debt". Is this an out and out threat. Should I call the police... main contractor. I did phone the pleb of a man who said it and gave him seven kinds of hell on the phone but i want to know is that something I can go to the police with?

I am trying desperately to keep my cool but this is pushing my buttons !!!! I need help - fast as I am going to call contractor I think but need to know my rights.

Try having a chat with your local trading standards or the equivelent, contact no's etc will be under your local councils website or in yellow pages.

In theory your contract is well.......with the one you made the contract with, not the one he sub-contracted the work to. Who have you paid for the work?
