Hi, just bought a £10 slow cooker in tesco. Bit confused as friends have said you put water in it, which does make sense to me! but i am unsure where to put the water! Do you place it in the crock cooking pot with the food or do you out it in the main electric part container (if that makes sense!!). Any advice would be gratefully appreciated as the tesco leaflet that came with it was no help at all. Many thanks

You put the water in the crock pot where the food goes, nowhere else!
You could download the instruction manual for the Morphy Richards 3.5l slowcooker, it looks very similar to the Tesco one.

Just a little bit, I put the joint in first, then about 1-2 cm deep of water around it. The best joints are cheaper cuts like brisket etc. There's a slowcooker thread on here if you search for it. Has lots of nice recipes in.Anytime;)0

Hi there
I have to say that I never add liquid to my slow cooker to start with !
I put the meat in and it creates its own liquid... I only add liquid to the slow cooker once the meat is cooked and is going on to make soup/stews-6 -8 -3 -1.5 -2.5 -3 -1.5-3.50 -
Like MRSMCAWBER I never used to put any liquid in for cooking a piece of meat and always found the meat created it's own liquid. Since replacing my old cooker with a new one (I'd had the old one about 15 years and it was cracking) I find that it doesn't retain the liquid as well as the old one and I have to add water to it. So maybe you need to experiment a little and see how yours works.0
