How are you using your CI slot? you have a CAM module which is like a fat credit card and inside this is your viewing card. This website shows you a movie on how to fit a CAM into a CI (sorry about the Setanta promo)

Your Cam Slot requires a Cam for it to function, it is only used for pay TV, such as Setanta etc.0

the manual u got with your tv will help loads i expect
anything u dont understand is a google/wiki away The orginal post in this thread has a very very slim chance of being about money saving. The post is more than likely to ask a question that google could answer better than any of us.0 -
thanks for this I wish the staff at tescos had seen this they are supposed to be fully trained on the electrical dept and the help line knew less than me,very grateful for your help the manual with the tv wasn't very helpful niether was the setanta helpline they didn't even suggest the website guideLivingthedream wrote: »How are you using your CI slot? you have a CAM module which is like a fat credit card and inside this is your viewing card. A CAM is a "Conditional Access Module" which allows for Pay channels to be watched with the appropriate card -- If your TV has freeview it may also take a TOP-UP CAM for those channels as well. Note that each cam will only decode the cards appropriate to it unless you have a specialist Multi-Cam such as the Dragon, Diablo etc. [mainly used on satellite receivers] -- Dave0
