  • Hi Butterfly

I know that this won't be an instant saving but have you thought about growing your own veg in your garden?

Seeds are dirt cheap and you can always get a book from the library on what to grow when and you can use the leftovers as pet food.

Need any advice on this give me a shout.

    Cheers

Did you contact CCCS or other? I don't know much about these things but if you go on a DMP mightn't some interest rates be frozen? Or do you work in an industry that means you can't do that?

Don't worry about the being pregnant thing - you can do it - babies really don't need to cost very much at all and you've got plenty of time to plan and get ready. Congratulations!

    Aw, congratulations!

Don't worry about money as i'm sure you can get sorted - baby's more important. :) As hypno says, this will maybe give you the incentive to get going.

  • Hi Butterfly

We have a baby boy who is three months old now and the best advice i can give is to log onto all of the websites you can think of ie: pamper, huggies, tesco etc etc and register on their baby/parent clubs and they will send you through loads of vouchers and money off deals which you can start stocking up on now.

I know there is obviously the £35k to think about but all we did was on every weekly shop we spent anywhere from £1-5 on basics like nappies, cotton wool and baby wipes and we ended up with a big stockpile for when the baby was born which helped as we had less money coming in.

    Cheers
