hi angel eyes
thank you for your message, facing up to our debt has been really scary as its a massive reality check, as we all know! i am pleased ive done it, we did look into a secured loan but the amount we wanted to borrow was to high. we are currently trying to move our credit cards onto 0% and if we cant we will then do the credit card shuffle.
thanks for writing£35k in debt and need help!!:o :eek:0 -
If you think about it a 0% card or low rate balance for life card is probably cheaper than your mortgage or any kind of loan and there are no early redemption penalties so logically this is the way to go. If you are applying for new cards - do it one at a time and use a cash back site like quidco which pay you for taking out a card thro them. Egg was paying £30 recently, on another site you could get £22.50 for an Amex card. Don't forget supermarket cards either... Remember Martin's golden rule - do not spend on a balance transfer card as altho the balance transfer might be 0% most purchases are not. They pay off the free bit first leaving the interest paying bit the longest!

Hi Butterfly, one thing about your dog, you should be able to start introducing adult food into her diet now, if you mix it half and half with the puppy food and then wean her onto the adult dry mix (which is always cheaper than puppy food!) this shouldn't give her stomach upsets.
I have a 2 year old Weimaraner and he only costs us £28 a month! and he is on premium dry foodAug GC £63.23/£200, Total Savings £00 -

Hi there
Hope you don't mind me posting in your diary, well done for sorting out your finances now, you've made the first difficult step. The one thing I did notice was that you have two cars and apologies if someone has mentioned this already, but is it really necessary for you to have two cars which really is a huge expense? Could you not manage with one which would save you a lot of money every month and of course you would have money from the sale of one of the cars to put towards your debt.
