Replacement Epson cartridge: chip resetter? v.4.1 chip?

Hi,
Bit of a stupid question, I'm afraid.
I need a replacement Magenta cartridge for an Epson Stylus DX7000F multi-function printer but don't know if there is anything I should be aware of before I buy one or more e.g. do I need a 'Chip Resetter' for the chip on the cartridge; would there be a problem mixing branded and non-branded cartridges; etc.?
This site (http://www.cityinkexpress.co.uk/DX7000-Ink_cartridge_refillable_for_Epson_DX7000F.html) mentions something about version 4.1 chips to ensure compatibilty.
I currently use either a software resetter or hardware resetter for my current decrepit Epson Stylus 680.
Thanks.
Anyone?
