Which Las Vegas hotel?

Does anyone have any recommendations for Las Vegas hotels (esp. on the strip) and where is the cheapest place to book - here online before I go, or wait until I get there (end of Sept 2006). I'll only be there for one or two nights.

Old thread here, there are more if you search.

Sign up to the Casino's email newsletter, they send out offers.

Check the Vegas convention checker to see if there's any HUGE conventions that can fill hotels.

Try to arrive\dept mid-week, usually a lot cheaper as out of town gamblers arrive Frid and leave Sunday\Monday.

Bargains tend to be on the hotel web-sites at the last minute so I'd book a cancellable hotel room now (probably on the hotel web-site) and then look for any bargains nearer the time.

Try to get a Hotel mid-strip, avoid Circus Circus (IMHO)
  • Hi We have stayed in 3 Vegas hotels. The Luxor, Circus Circus and the Exalibar. The Luxor by far was the best, and in a very good position on the strip. The other 2 hotels we had our grandchildren with us so they were ideal for anyone taking children. We booked direct with the hotels. we joined there email booking system and when there were offers on we got an email. It is far cheaper if you can go midweek saturday is the most expensive night.

I am sure you will have a good time there. There is no where like Vegas Annie :xmassign:
  • I recommend the Monte Carlo. Good location and good prices. Also the casino isn't so huge that is takes you half an hour to get out of your hotel! If you book it direct on their website you can cancel up to 48hrs before (I think). Before I stayed there in September this year I noticed on their website that the price for the room had reduced on a couple of the nights I was staying. I rang them up and they changed the rate to the lower one immediately. :j
