Bottled Gas...Expensive?
Options
I live on an island, we don`t have piped gas here, so for use in portable heaters and small gas cookers we use bottled propane and butane gas.
I have one of these heaters for use in the bathroom...no central heating and with the cold spell lately it saves us getting hypothermia when we bathe or shower!
The last time I bought one of the bottles though, it cost me £24 and I wondered if that was very expensive compared to further south or mainland UK?
Speaking personally I find it horrendous, and know the price has risen by about a fiver since the `credit crunch` and that the shop justifies the price rise by claiming the recession etc.
At the risk of sounding like an auld fart...I do remember the days when bottled gas only cost around £9!! And that wasn`t too long ago either.

Just bought a bottled gas yesterday at a cost of £26 ( here on the south coast)
We use it on a small gas fire when we need a boost of heat over the winter and it does a good job. The cylinders last for ages. Rest of the year its plugged into the BBQ!0
