How Much Does Gas Cooker Cost To Run?
Options
My gas cooker is broke and we need to buy a new one .We havent actually missed the cooker at all as i have been either using the electric hob or mostly using my slow cooker which at this time of the year i love .
How much do you reckon i will be saving by not using the gas cooker ? We used the cooker everyday when it was working .Do you think by me not having a gas cooker i will see a big difference on my gas bill ?

Hi Carlos,
I've moved your thread over to the Gas and Electric board to see if you can get some replies.

Slow cookers are cheap enough to run but an electric hob looks like an expensive alternative to a gas one. When you say gas cooker, do you mean gas oven only? If there are four of you or fewer, maybe a Remoska would work for you for things like cakes, roasts etc?
It's difficult to say how much a gas oven costs to run - most people would be using gas to heat water on a daily basis too. I had to do without a cooker when we moved and hated it. Wouldn't go from gas to electric either.0 -
A gas cooker hardly uses anything at all to run, that's the oven and with hob. Only a few pound per quarter.
We too would never go from gas to electric. It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... It's no one not noone, It's a lot not alot, It's got not gotten... Panini is the plural of panino - there is no S!!(OK my English isn't great, the sciences, maths & IT are my strong points!)0
