take the VM tv drive box out the picture here (sound can come straight from your TV instead so no matter what you have on the screen it will always play through the stereo ie xboxs dvd's etc)
all you will need is a cable from the stereo to the TV its that simple and select normally AV or External on the stereo, (you may need to internal mute the TV so you don't get double sound, ie turn the sound off in the menu on the TV)
you may have an optical input on both the TV and stereo so here is another way (suppose to be better quality)
And thats It.......the nice and simple wayIf you find yourself in a fair fight, then you have failed to plan properly
I've only ever been wrong once! and that was when I thought I was wrong but I was right0 -
The Arcam has an optical out, Just check if the TV has the same & buy an optical lead.

AFAIK the Arcam mini solo doesn't have an optical out, and you would actually need an optical in, which it doesn't have either.
Check the back panel of the Virgin TV box for an analogue audio output - it almost certainly has one. You can simply connect this to the "TV" input on the Arcam Solo.0 -

Sorry my mistake:o I was looking at the Solo not the Solo Mini.

The back of the Solo Mini looks like this:
You'll see there are stereo inputs for "TV" on the back, towards the bottom left. At least one of your Virgin Box or your TV (probably both) will have similar stereo phono outputs. Simply get a standard stereo phono to phono cable - make sure it's long enough - and connect one to the other.
Connecting from your TV is probably slightly preferable than connecting from the Virgin box, but both should work fine. You could even connect both, one to the TV input, the other to AV, if you really wanted to go mad...0
