    Wombat, thing is, he's right. Oil prices are down over 50% since the mid-year peak. The bounce today was something like $7 bringing light sweet crude up to about $65 (i don't have the figures in front of me).

    You've taken the % rise totally out of context, and without context it's meaningless.

    Absolutely true. The same could be said of the rise in bank shares today. However, it is nothing that the meeja doesn't do on a daily basis (especially Sky News).
