I have recently inherited £5,000 and am looking to stash it away for between 6 months to a year. I already have maxxed out my ISA allowance for the year and believe that with interest rates possibly heading down quick, think it would be better to lock the money away in a guaranteed, high-interest bond rather than a high-interest savings account.
I was looking for advice on wether this would be the right thing to do and if so, with whom?
Many thanks:beer:

Sounds like a good idea if you don't need the money soon. I'd look at good old building societies. They are not run by arrogant, greedy, irresponsible, wide-boys like the banks are (the B/S's that were like that became banks, and failed), their fixed term interest rate are generally still pretty good, and they are covered by the £50,000 FSCS guarantee without further complications. A site like moneysupermarket.com will show what's on offer, and you can choose according to the interest rate and the terms and conditions etcNo-one would remember the Good Samaritan if he'd only had good intentions. He had money as well.
The problem with socialism is that eventually you run out of other people's money.
