Please help!!

 hi there again,

I change my details with ctc and was sent all the forms 5 weeks ago as i have declared my partner moving in and work self employed rang up over 2 weeks ago to be told they needed my bank details in which i gave them and was told i would receive my payment within 2 weeks but nothing!!!

I rang a moment ago to be told that my old claim hadn't stopped but i wasn't receiving anything as i canceled this on the 26 Th sep 08 which she mentioned on the phone, she said she was going to email the tax office but can't tell me when i will get paid, the problem is I'm waiting for my benefits to be processed IE IS (been told i can get) as been waiting 5 weeks for that too we have no money apart from £43.90 a week and My DLA £69 a month we are struggling as my partner is self employed and its very slow at the min what can we do??
We have 3 children and I'm in tears worrying over money as my bank account is already in debt as a returned direct debit couldn't be paid i have another 2 bills next week, my partners wages are already gone on a car payments and his bills we're stuck!!!!

I have been looking and taking ideas from the old style board which has helped!!

I believe there is some kind of hardshop payment you can get from the JobCentre Plus offices while benefits are 'stuck in the system'. Certainly worth giving them a call and finding out where you stand :)

(I assume the weekly amount you mention includes your Child Benefit?)

but you wouldn't be owing money if you get the hardship payment..... it's money you're entitled to, but it's coming out of a different 'purse' for now.

I've never had this, and neither has DD, so I don't know if this one is repayable or not. I know this is a crisis loan that you have to repay in small weekly amounts, but I think that takes longer to process anyway

Hiya, I can soooo sympathise with your situation cos we're in sort of the same predicament at the moment! I rang tax credit office yesterday to tell them that my partner had moved in, so that they could send out the app. forms for a joint claim..... in the meantime my ctc payments will stop altogether until this claim has been processed. My other half is also self employed as a painter and decorator and is currently just working two days a week as work is really hard to find at the mo for him. Last week he only got in one day of work so this week he'll get paid £75 on Friday which will just about cover food shopping and gas and electric (prepayment meters) I won't be getting my tax credit payment in the bank as per usual on Friday and I've got about £120 due out of my account for direct debits on Monday. I only get £33 into my account on Monday for carers allowance.... (lower amount because income support - which I no longer claim - messed up and overpaid me and are taking back the overpayments from my carers allowance money) Its ridiculous. I think CTC peeps should be able give us an interim payment even if its lower than what you would be expecting to get so that people don't get into this type of situation and have got a little something to fall back on. I've got to get on to the bank now and cancel my direct debits for this month so that they don't "bounce" otherwise I'll be getting charged by the bank too. : ( So then when I set up the direct debits again the payments will be bigger to make up for this month that I've missed out.

Hope you manage to get something sorted out! all the best, Em x
