Discussion Time/The Arms

I frequent DT on a regular basis, often find a thread I like to follow, whether or not I post on it. Never had the slightest interest in the 'chat' threads that appear in The Arms, find it mostly to be drivel with the 'I had toast today' 'Oooh it's snowing' type threads. Yet when a thread is duplicated in both DT and The Arms it invariably gets shoved over into there, today it's the Ross/Brand thread which I'd consider to be current affairs, why does this happen? I'm sure there are others like me who'd sooner plait fog than venture in there.
