Nintendo DS Game. Advice needed.

I'm buying a Nintendo DS as a Christmas present for a relative and they want a particular game that seems to be difficult to find now.
The game they want is Trauma center. I haven’t seen it sold in many places and when I have found it online it's usually around £26. I did some searching and found a Trauma center 2 at cdwow for only £19.49. This seems like a really good deal but when I searched Google for some information on the second game it doesn’t look as though it's been released in the UK, so I'm now thinking that it must be an American version of the game.
I've not ordered from cdwow before so can anyone tell me if the items they sell are meant for English games and consoles? I would hate to order it and then find out it doesn’t play on the UK DS console. Especially as I'm ordering the game now, but it wont be used until Christmas so if it doesn’t work, I don’t think I will be able to return it. The price is very tempting though.
Would it be worth ordering or will I be stuck with a game that they cant play? I know nothing about Nintendo DS games.

In general, these sites (cdwow, sendit, onlinecheapogames.com etc) buy imports, and sell them on in other territories (grey market).
If they are selling to the UK, they will be sure the game will A) work andbe in English.
Wikipedia:
The Nintendo DS is region free in the sense that any console will run a Nintendo DS game purchased anywhere in the world; however, the Chinese version games can only be played on the Chinese iQue DS, whose larger firmware chip contains the required Chinese character glyph images. Although Nintendo DS of other regions cannot play the Chinese games, iQue DS can play games of other regions. Also, as with Game Boy games, some games that require both players to have a Nintendo DS game card for multiplayer play will not necessarily work together if the games are from different regions (e.g. a Japanese Nintendo DS game may not work with a North American Nintendo DS game, though some titles, such as Mario Kart DS, are mutually compatible). With the addition of the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection, certain games can be played over the Internet with users of a different region game.
Some Wi-Fi enabled games (e.g. Mario Kart DS) allow the selection of opponents by region. The options are "Regional" ("Continent" in Europe) and "Worldwide", as well as two non-location specific settings. This allows the player to limit competitors to only those opponents based in the same geographical area. This is based on the region code of the console in use.0 -
Oasis,
As post above, all DS games are region free....
I have many, many DS games, Trauma Centre amongst them .... honestly, save your money!!!! The screen is too small to take many of the minute actions required. I got to about level 6 or 7 and couldn't get past it, because of lack of precision (and I'm a fairly regular gamer). If this is for a new gaming person, I would imagine they'd find it even more difficult.
The story is quite good though, and if you're into that sort of thing, it's fun (until you get to the bit where you can't get past it!!)

Bateman, I didn't know about the games being region free, I've never really known anything about the DS before. It will be in English then if it's an American game, so I think it will be safe to order now. Thanks for your help.
ceebeeby, They really want the game though. I have read a few reviews about it being a difficult game but they are usually really good at computer games in general but I guess you don't know until you try it! It does look a fun game, and I read about the storyline of it, plus I found the reviews of it from the US Amazon site and it does say that a few of problems of the first one have been sorted out in this but I don't know if that covers the problems you mentioned.
Hmm..I think it still might be worth ordering from cdwow. I was just worried as I'd never shopped from there before.
Thanks for all the help.

all ds games are region free, I buy quite a lot of import games in my local small games shop, jusdt make sure it has english language on it as a choice.
I bought mine quite a few years ago and like ceebeeby avove mentions, because of its absolute precise cutting needed I can't get past level 7 (wonder if its the same thing we are both stuck on!) and I am a ds queen and play loads of games so reallly annoyed can't get past this.
you are more likely to find 2nd hand copies as its an old game and I think was originally an import game not released in UK. (I could be wrong here though)0 -

Thanks for the link. That's a really good price for a brand new one, but now I've found out that the games are region free I've gone ahead and ordered the second version of it anyway so hopefully it'll be good.

It does sound difficult! Especially, the higher levels. I've played a few games before (never on DS though) and it is so frustrating when you get stuck on a particular level.
Good luck with it. I hope you solve it soon and I'll be curious to see now if any of my family get stuck on the same levels!
