Carpet vs Laminate

we are just having some work done on our house then we are ripping up all the laminate in the living room and replacing with Carpet. Is it likely to be warmer? Or not make that much difference?

I have just been scouring the internet for underlay, and have bought this stuff...

It has arrived (12 hours after I ordered it!) and although not laid yet, it looks and feels really good. It will be laid in the next few days, so I'll let you know how it goes.
