Not as described - am I being too picky??

  • Yes I did, thanks. I was offered a partial refund which I accepted earlier today so will be keeping an eye on my Paypal account over the next few days to see if it arrives. It's still costing more than I would have chosen to bid up to based on an honest description, but I'm happy that having seen it - although not 'new' - the condition is great and I reckon is worth this price. The seller says they bought it from a store in this condition and thought it odd themselves at the time. Very strange.

Anyway, all's well that ends well and I'm looking forward to giving them some nice feedback for sorting a problem out without any hassle. (Touch wood!) :T

Could be true. I once bought my o/h a playstation game which was sealed. we opened it only to find that there were no discs inside! i took it back and we got a new one but still, goes to show things like that can happen.
  • Strange. With the Lego, it's possible a customer returned it to the shop and they took it back and resold it without actually checking it properly.
I didn't hear back from the seller of my son's laptop with no manual etc (I checked the same model elsewhere just to make sure it should have one), and he's been selling stuff on eBay since then, so I ended up leaving neutral feedback.
  • I dont think you are being petty, if you buy new you expect new....if you buy as new you expect second hand in excellent condition. As for buying it like that im not sure, surley any shop would have bagged it so the pieces didnt go mising...i think maybe the seller opened it and then it never got used but that isnt NEW. Well done for arranging a discount. People should be more honest, im fed up of reciving things on ebay that arnt as discribed.
