Benefit payments !?

What a cuffuffle !!

I applied for income support and incapacity benefit..I got my income support payment last thursday, with payment due every 2 weeks.I then got a letter a few days saying I was entitled to Incapacity benefit and that they write to me when my account was credited. Now today I get a letter saying I wont get income support because the law says I have enough to live on.(presumably the incapacity benefit)

Anyways,im just wanting to know if i'll receive my incapacity benefit when my next income support would be due (ie.next thursday) ?

Any help would be great !!

Sounds like you have qualified for IB based on NI contributions. You will not get I/S as IB exceeds I/S personal allowance.

  • you should receivr your IB payment the same day as it was paid in

You cannot claim IB and IS but IB is higher paying than IS

While on IB you will still have to part pay towards rent and council tax and other things which you would get free in you clamied IS
