MMR 6: The Cochrane Family

  • According to the blurb on MMR on ITV.com the object of the show is

This series isn’t about cutting back - it’s about enabling people to take on companies, find the top deals, and play the system helping them to potentially release thousands of pounds each year – enough for the purchase of their dreams: a luxury family holiday, brand new car or extensive home improvements.

Now if this means this family can fulfill their dream of a holiday home abroad, then Martin has done his job. They didn't go on the show to "save money as such" but to use what they have in a better way and well done to them if this means their particular dream comes true.

  • It's nice to find out how the other half throw their money away. 1a_y_rof.gif

i don't read that site, but i'll have a look. but if all things are relative, and i know now this is about allowing 'some' well paid people to fulfill their dreams of 'going abroad' and what not, but if it was 'relative', it might allow some ppl on the breadline to have a weekend in sunny skeggy?

it's just a case of lowering the bar, but i've read Martins post and can see where he's coming from as far as the programme's concerned now.

    thanks though Edinburghlass :)
  • Exactly Mike, instead of viewing the progammes as them and us (those with a good salary coming in as apposed to those with a low income) everyone can make some savings along the way.

Yes for a lot of people the savings may well be minute but better in your pocket than say BT or an electric company.

Five pound a month saving on a telephone bill makes £60 a year which if put away would at least get you a day in sunny skeggy icon7.gif
