Live Mail with Gmail - emails not downloading

I'm using Windows Live Mail to download emails from my Gmail account, all the email download ok except from one family member which WLM doesn't see as being on the gmail server even though I can see them on the web based gmail.
I've check to see if there is any option selected to not download emails from this sender but can't see anything in my options (I have no message rules setup)
Any ideas
