Sterling airways have gone bust.

Comments

  • I flew with them in June between Copenhagen and Gatwick. Three hours delay going out and four hours flying back.
I certainly won't be missing them.

You should be able to get everything back from Visa. Speak to the bank that issued your debit card and ask them about the "chargeback" procedure.

    I hope you're right.
Even if I can the money back it looks like any other tickets for my destination are gonna be triple what I paid for the ones I ordered from Sterling.

Just had a look at some of the rescue packages, Ryanairs' of course stands out as putting the boot in, while the others just give essential info on getting you home.
Also, this line on the RA rescue page
“Sterling passengers can book their trip back home for only €100 including taxes and charges. This rescue fare can be booked via www.ryanair.com until Wednesday night, 5th November.

“Ryanair strongly advises all passengers to book airfares only with financially stable airlines. By booking with Ryanair you will secure the guaranteed lowest fares and no fuel surcharges and can be sure that Ryanair will still be flying when your flight date arrives. With over €2billion in cash reserves Ryanair is one of the most financially robust airlines in Europe.”
So, about £80 to get you back with RA, £35 with 1 checked bag with Easyjet, and approx £60 with BA. Would RA refund the difference between their £80 and EJ £35??
    Answers on a postcard please.

    And this little gem!!
"and can be sure that Ryanair will still be flying when your flight date arrives"
Oh really, try telling that to the thousands of pax. that have had flights canceled because of low booking numbers
The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.
