On haggling a private seller?
We are going looking at a vauxhall vectra 2.5 v6 r reg today with an asking price of £695 ono.
How low do you think i can push him and any pointers on the best way to do this?
I don't get nearly enough credit for not being a violent psychopath.

    Just go in and offer a flat £600 and don't budge from it. Have the money there in your hand on show.
    I'm off to look at a classic today. He's been trying to sell it for 3 months. Absolutely nothing wrong with the car - in fact it's probably one of the best examples of that model in the UK but he's dropped it from £1750 to £1400 to "sensible offers" and he's on the jam roll. I have every intention of getting it for £1k.

    Be sure to remind him that tax and insurance for those type big engine V6 cars is more now and going up so he's less likely to sell it now ;)

    not for a 97 model,

    if it hasnt got leather,alloys, ac, spoiler dont payp over £500, there are loads about, try vxl member forums like migweb, vvoc, vxon etc...
    I maybe crap with money but im good with cars;)

    We checked out the road tax and as it is before 2001 not an issue.
    It has got all the extras alloys spoiler etc and a brand new tow bar which we needed.
    I got him down to £650 which i don't think was too bad as it is really in excellant condition absolutley spotless.
    I don't get nearly enough credit for not being a violent psychopath.
