If you have access to a car, delivering meals for Indian restaurants can be very lucrative (Friday and Saturday are the best nights) It makes sense to target restaurants in the wealthiest areas of your town/city.
If you are interested in this type of work, you can say that you will initially work mid/start of week (less money) to get your foot in the door.
On a negative note I think a lot of restaurants will be hit by the 'credit crunch', but I'm sure in certain wealthy suburbs people will still be spending a small fortune on takeaway meals!
What you need for this type of work:
1) Car.
2) Mobile phone.
3) A-Z Street Guide, or even better Sat-Nav (not necessary however.)
4) Ideally, knowledge of the area that you are delivering to.
5) A plastic box or similar to stop the food staining your car seats.0 -

I packed in a job in late August doing that but Chinese meals. The money isnt that good at all and I know others who do this who get pittance
Contrary what customers think, often you have to pay for the running of your own car, petrol etc. You get a very low wage and so much per call this can be as low as 50p to £2. I got £1 and I still only made about £7-£8 an hour plus cost of running my car which was £8 a night and I aint even factored in service costs
You do get tips but it aint a lot most people dont give you anything and you also may have to pay to ring customers up because not everyone has door bells in flats which is a right pain and I aint even started on the amount of complaints I get of why you are late because the woman who takes the calls has no idea how long it takes you to get to a place or how long it takes you to get back to pick the next load up.
I did enjoy the job and go right friendly with customers but you do meet some nutters and smack heads toopennypincher1010 wrote: »If you have access to a car, delivering meals for Indian restaurants can be very lucrative (Friday and Saturday are the best nights) It makes sense to target restaurants in the wealthiest areas of your town/city.

Have you tried babysitting for family and friends?, if you don't want to tie up your evenings, offer to keep other peoples kids amused while they do a
kid-free christmas shop, some harassed mothers might jump at the chance.
