Sign up for Quidco - and do all the shopping through there. Mainly Christmas shopping. It is cashback site. Some of the shops on there (and there is loads!) are actually very cheap. For example I am going to buy most of the stuff for the females in the family from cheapsmells as I found it the cheapest perfumes site around.
I know you have to spend money first on this site, but as it is Christmas everyone will be spending some anyway.
Then I also do Ipsos panel surveys (vouchers) apart from what you are already doing.
  • Maybe sell some things that you no longer use or need on ebay or Amazon?

I have sold quite a few books on Amazon lately. And I have also bought books for Xmas from private sellers on Amazon. Is easy, if you got an account you can just type in the ISBN number and the book details come up. Also have sold a couple of CDs on there.

Depending on where you live a car boot sale, think most outdoor ones are finished but some places have indoor ones. My BF looked at a car boot sale website, i'll try and get the website for you if you're interested.

Apart from cutting down and starting surveys, it's the only way i can think of to "get rich quick"

Have you considered volunteering for clinical trials as a healthy volunteer? These can pay in excess of £1000 for minimal effort. I work as a project manager running these studies (well I do patient studies now, but I used to run healthy volunteer studies), but when I was a student I took part in some studies myself, which paid for a very nice skiing holiday.

How do you sign up? And can you refuse some studies or do you have to take what you are offered? What does it involve?

It's entirely up to you what studies you take part in, you can be as picky as you like. When you go for the first time they will discuss with you what sort of studies are available and will makes notes on what your preferences are, then when a suitable study comes up they will call you and see if any of the dates they are running the study on suit you. Usually the studies are run on several different dates and they bring in volunteers in groups, so hopefully one of the dates will be okay.

If you are interested they will call you in for a screening visit where they will check various things (height, weight, blood pressure, etc) and give you an informed consent document that contains all the information about what is involved in the study and contact details should you want to discuss this with anybody else (independent ethics committee, study doctor). You can then go away and have a think about it, chat with your family, GP, friends, mates down the pub and then decide if you want to take part. If you do, then you sign this document to give your consent (you can withdraw consent at any time and stop taking parting in the study - obviously if you leave the study early the payment will be reduced).

The studies themselves will be designed to look at the effects of new drugs in healthy volunteers. Usually with limited exposure (you take a very low dose for a short period of time). They may collect blood samples, monitor blood pressure, heart rate, they may take ECG recordings. You may be required ro stay in overnight at the study centre, you get paid more for over-night stays and usually the centres are well equiped, nice food, video/DVD room, games room (Play stations, pool tables etc), library, gardens, etc.

Below is a link to a company in Leeds who I used to work with called Covance. Their site has more information what is involved.

    http://www.testwiththebest.com/main.php/leeds

I just did a quick google and found this place in Manchester. I have never worked with them, but looking at their website this looks like the same sort of organisation.

    http://www.manchesterclinicaltrials.co.uk/

Another site to have a look at:

    http://www.biotrax.com/home.php

I should perhaps point out I don't work for any of these companies and I am not currently working with any of them.

Only volunteer if you feel comfortable doing so and are happy that you understand what is involved. Do not feel pressured into taking part and be happy to say no and walk away if it's not right for you.

    Thank you for that Clive.
I was thinking for some time to do few of those - my friends also used to do this to support their university cost and never but once complained - I remember only once they got some pills to try and felt sick after them - the study was immediately withdrawn and they did checks on them and it was just normal stomach sickness which meant that the drug needs some improvements in side effects. But it was study for side effects so they new this will probably happen and they got paid well.

As I mentioned I did a couple of studies myself when i was a student and never had a problem, the money came in very handy.

If you do have any questions you don't want to ask on here, feel free to send me a PM and I will do my best to help.

    Cheers

If you're not working at the moment, the Post Office often start advertising for temporary post deliveries in the run up to the Christmas period. Google Post Offices vacancies and your post code and it may direct you to the nearest office.
