Hello. i have come up with a really good idea and want to know who to contact and get it all started up. it's an electrical "thing".
i won't want to approach just anyone incase they steal my idea, but will need help to get it produced

If it's novel and therefore patentable, there have been discussions about patenting in the past. Not necessarily on this board, however, so have a look on Discussion Time as well, you'll have to search. If you don't find it there, it could have been somewhere else which isn't particularly helpful I know but maybe a wider search will turn it up!Signature removed for peace of mind0

You should also try and get hold of some materials about innovation and intellectual property rights - Patent Office do a series of handouts and their website is helpful.
Open University did a booklet called "Build a Better Mousetrap" as support to a course on Innovation and Design a few years ago - well worth reading as it will test you and your thinking - unfortunately not all good ideas are saleable and there is a lot to do before they will even be considered seriously.
