I am looking for something similar to this DeLonghi Sospiri electric fire
http://www.delonghi.co.uk/product_page.php?id=107&key=Electric%20Fires%20and%20Stoves
But would like something cheaper than £499. I can't do gas since it is a party wall.
I'd like a fire with a good display that you can switch on with no heat.

Richard, I've been looking for something that looks nice, rather than gives off heat (I don't really need it in a modern centrally-heated house now, do I ?) The other thing is that I love 'real' fires...so I'm looking at these gel fires I heard about. I'm not sure if they're any good etc. as I'm planning ahead for my new house with this project, but I'm going to seriously look into them when I have moved in. I managed to find a web-site that may get you started....

I think they look quite good, but everyone has their own opinion. See what you think.0 -
Look good, I think I prefer an electric one though.Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0

Hi all, new to the boards so here goes,i have been looking for a new fire for the living room and like the look of the landscape ones by dimplex.
The main ones are the sp range but they have something called smart heated glass and they are only 420watts, i know that isnt alot for something of this price but it is only rearly for background heating and for the look,so my question is would this give of much heat and could it possible make any difference to a reasonably sized room on its own, thanks for any replies if any.
