new ipod nano and compatible speakers?

Please can someone offer some advice on ipods. We currently have a 2g ipod nano which works with our logitech mm50 speakers which are fab! We were looking at getting a 2nd ipod to store more music on etc and i only really want a small ipod i.e nano am i right in thinking that the new nano will not fit on these speakers?
I do not want to have to purchase an ipod and speakers - do any of the new ipods work with the logitech mm50? Or are there any speakers that work with the old and new nano?
