Cleaning out heating pipes

Hello

Can someone give me any idea how much it would cost to clean out the central heating pipes and radiators, and also to fit a new pump?

The house is a 1980's two bed terraced in Wiltshire.

Thanks awfully.

You can clean the pipes yourself to some extent which wont cost much apart from some effort. Getting someone in to do will be much more expensive of course.

You can also change pump, which if everything goes well isn't a huge job.

I am not sure to do this by meyself. So, wondering if a figure of about £ 400 a fair price?

The price will depend on whether its a manual flush or a power flush. Powerflush is a lot more expensive but quicker.

If its being done manually then £400 should probably cover it including flushing and the pump. If its a power flush then its probably going to cost more. Best thing to do is get a couple of quotes from local plumbers.

its not always worth doing it -
i know a few people that did it and it didnt make any difference and u can never get all the gunk out.
as i rule i do it IF my water pipes start making odd noises
The orginal post in this thread has a very very slim chance of being about money saving. The post is more than likely to ask a question that google could answer better than any of us.
