Back-Gate won't shut

My wooden back gate seems to have swollen with the weather lately and won't shut, what's the best thing to do now? Should I just trim a bit off it?
2p off is still 2p off!

no dont trim it........ wait for the warmer weather, let it dry out then give it a good coat of wood stain/preservative.....
i had a similar problem with my front porch door...... wind now blows through the gap like a bleeding gale.....smile --- it makes people wonder what you are up to....

personally I'd give it a wee sand down, then pick the warmest/dryest day you can right now and treat it, depending on the weather you might be able to shut it within a few days, in the meantime tie it back with some string0

What's the harm in taking a small amount off? It's a gate, it doesn't matter about what will be a small gap in the summer months.0

If he wants to close it he'll have to trim it.0
