Don't forget Crimewatch and possibly Casualty are moving here in the next five years too.
I think he'd rather shoot himself than do casualty. He's a bit of a snob about what he works on. He prefers film to tv, and prefers to only do "quality" tv. It's why we moved from Ireland, we make some of the world's worst tv in Ireland, he's worked on some right crap at home.:o0 -
I think Guide prices are necessary really.
I regularly look at about 11 auctioneers, 6 of them local 5/6 of them London, all the big ones (except Peter Alan - but they are not an auction really, judging by the fiasco we just witnessed) publish results and reserves. 2 local ones are small time and don't publish reserves, but do show guide prices.
My guess is that large auctioneers wish to avoid an onslaught of phonecalls the day after auction asking for reserve prices.
I note your location, I am also interested in Scotland property auctions and I only know 2
SVA - They don't show guide prices or reserves (maybe it's a Scottish thing), It's been such a long time since I looked at their site, they have improved it greatly but I thought they used to show GP & Reserves. Why would anyone want Lots 1 & 2?
And
I think Wilsons - but I'm not going to their site because google is saying it is unsafe to visit.
Apart from Countrywide, do you know of any others?
Hey, maybe you can explain what "Feudal Freehold" means?
It would quite hard to publish the guide prices, we're often still waiting to hear back fromt he clients what they want the final guide price or even reserve price to be one day before the auction. Probably why we just don't do it. As for lots 1 and 2 in the SVA auction, it's those sort of things that sell best
Nope, those are the only three that I know of.
Haven't a clue what that means but I am being told it is an English term and we don't use it.Just because you made a mistake doesn't mean you are a mistake.0 -

I've seen it describe properties in Scotland & only Scotland, like this one

AFAICS Peter Alan has not yet published the results & reserves, not very smart if their objective is to sell properties. Sure you can phone them up and ask, but they are seriously limiting their ability to sell the lots by not publishing the results.
I don't know if they have published any figures but I've spoken to three people, one of whom who was working at the auction (apparently spent the whole evening wishing the ground would swallow him up) and they agreed 20 sales after the auction.0 -

A very dear friend of ours is actor with similar feelings on quality. One of his classic comments? Talking about the film Iris he was upset as she had been a neighbour and friend to his family and he didn't like a lot of what was done in the film...so much so he almost didn't accept the role he was offered
Some really excelent actors have had parts in Casuality:cool:
