I am just about to move into a new house - its a new build.
I have a few quick questions that I was hoping someone could help with
As I am a FTB I have no details to enter onto a price comparison site to see who would be the cheapest for me.... Is there a site that will do this.
When I move in will the house have electricity as the companies I have called say they take 4 - 6 weeks to switch over
Thanks

If the house has a meter installed already, phone your existing energy supplier and give them your moving in date. They can then arrange to be the supplier from that date. Regardless of what you do you will have fuel (assuming its been connected up). If you dont currently have a supplier go on the comparision sites and put in the average annual consumption figures (sorry cant remember them) and see who comes out cheapest. Then phone them, tell them you moving in date and that you want them to be the supplier from that date. I dont know where this 4 to 6 weeks comes from. The electricity supply process allows suppliers to register themselves as the supplier to a property the next working day. It may take several weeks for the data to pass between computer systems but they will still be your supplier from that date.IT Consultant in the utilities industry specialising in the retail electricity market.
